Getting and Staying Motivated to Work Out to Reach Your Goal

Working out isn't a challenge, but meeting your weight loss goal, well, that's another story!

When you have a lot on your plate - work, running a business, taking care of family, unexpected events, it's easy to lose motivation and desire to stick with your fitness goals.

For your peace of mind, you might move for about five minutes - a little something is better than nothing, but that's not enough to meet your wellness loss goal.

Here's my power list on how to get and stay motivated to work out and reach your goal:

  1. Get new and comfortable workout clothes - Just as you look forward to going to brunch with the friends or date night with a significant other in your new dress, you'll look forward to working out in your new fitness gear)

  2. Compete with yourself - By consistently tracking your progress, you will know whether you are winning or losing.

  3. Buddy up - Take a friend or coworker with you to the gym or park. Working out with someone makes exercising even more fun. You both can motivate and hype each other up.

  4. Make your workouts fun - If you like dancing, dance. If you like working out with a trainer, do so.

  5. Reward yourself for every milestone you reach - You can treat yourself to new clothes or a much deserved spa day.
